In chinese it is known as 发誓 (Fāshì)
When ancient Roman men gave testimony, they held their testicles in their hand.
This give rise to the word testimony.
Women protested the use of the word ‘testimony’ when referring to a woman’s statements, because ‘testes’ has nothing to do with a female. Why not use ‘breastimony’?
