Oldest World Democracy

In the year 507 BC, Athen introduced a system of political reforms called demokratia, or “rule by the people.” Thus Athens is regarded as the birthplace of democracy.

The United States and Great Britain are among the oldest modern democracies.

The United States very first presidential election was 1788, while the British general election was held in 1708.
