Wild Weather

The 2012 kind.

Heavy Snow and freezing rain fall in parts of China during winter.

Big floods can be expected, coming summer.

Thailand faced its worst flooding in 50 years last December. Flood waters swamped more than two-thirds of the country, submerging rice fields and shutting down hundreds of factories, notably those producing Japanese cars.

A heat wave has hit Thailand.

‘‘Maximum temperatures in several provinces in the North, Northeast and Central regions could hit 40C to 42C next week,’’ says Prawit Jampanya, the director of the Central Weather Forecast Division.
