Food For The Eyes

Cataracts are the result of aging.

20 million people in the U.S. suffer from cataracts.

Most people suffer from cataract when they are around 70 years old.

There is a local Chinese home remedy that is said to prevent cataract.

The humble water chestnut.

The method:

Remove the skin of 5-6 of the knobby vegetable and store them in the fridge and eat them after a couple of hours.

Do this every week and cataract will not come a knocking.

A word of caution. They are extremely cold and laxative in nature and therefore should not be eaten excessively or it will cause gassy stomach and bloating. Children eating too much water chestnut might have severe pain under the navel. Pregnant woman especially should avoid.

MRT Trains Disruption

There are ways to end one's life.

Jumping off a high rise building.

Jumping into the sea or river.

Or the most common, as shown in the movies, swallowing a bottle of sleeping pills.

In Singapore it has now become a tradition jumping off the MRT track.

One headline read:

SINGAPORE: Eastbound train services between Queenstown and Outram Park MRT stations were disrupted for about 45 minutes Tuesday morning when a passenger was hit by a train at Redhill MRT Station.

And each time a suicide happens, 5000 commuters will be left stranded.

And buses will be deployed to ferry them to the next unaffected stations.

Money Laundering Scams

Scams are alive and kicking and they keep getting better. This is one example:

It is understandable that you might be a little bit apprehensive because you do not know me, but I have a lucrative business proposal with huge benefits to share with you.

I need your services in a confidential matter regarding money out of a beneficiary deposit for our mutual benefits and investments hence I decided to establish contacts with you for possible assistance to realize this goal. This requires a private arrangement, as you will receive these funds under a well mapped out legal procedure(s); all legal documents will be carefully worked out to ensure the entire process is risk free and successful.

I am willing to have a fair share (50/50) of the said funds with you once the entire project is completed. I have all the details backing this project, which I would provide you after receiving a corresponding email or message from you. The funds in question amount to a tune of $30,000,000 United States dollars.

I will expect a straight answer from you. Either - YES OR NO.

If YES, then kindly call me or send me an e-mail/fax containing your FULL NAMES AND TELEPHONE/FAX NUMBERS, so we could get acquainted and move ahead.

Thanks for your anticipated cooperation.

Regards

E-mail: deleted

The transferring of money for someone you don’t know could also be money laundering, which is illegal. If you agree to take part, the scammer could use your account details to clean out your savings.
If the authorities follow the money trail from a crime that the person scamming you was involved in, it could lead straight to your bank account.

Enlightenment

Forgive everyone for everything

What you do to others will bear fruit in you

Life is not fair, but it is good

Time heals everything. Give time, time

Don't compare your life with others.
You have no idea what their journey is all about

You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagreements

Try to make at least three people smile each day

Worthless people blame their karma

What other people think of you is none of your business

Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does

Your job won't take care of you when you are sick.
Your friends will. Keep in touch

No one is in charge of your hapiness except you

Life is too short to waste time hating anyone

Make peace with your past so it won't mess up the present

However good or bad a situation, it will change

Subway System

The construction of the Sydney Metro rail system was supposed to start this year but Premier Kristina Keneally cancelled the project in February.

Sydney is now the only major city in the Asia Pacific without a metro subway system.

On the other hand, Mumbai with a population of 13 million, will have a subway system running in the later part of the year.

The trains will be supplied by CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock company which signed a deal in to supply 18 trains for the new subway system. The deal is worth about $100 million.

The trains are China's first-ever export of A-type subway rails with automatic driving systems and maximum speed of 80 km per hour.

Are You Misdiagnosed ?

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a very rare disease that can mimic a myocardial infraction or angina pectoris.

It was first described in Japan fifteen years ago.

The word "takotsubo" is the Japanese word for an octopus fishing trap with a round bottom and narrow neck.

Coronary angiography revealed non obstructive coronary arteries.

Angina, or angina pectoris occurs when the heart is not getting enough blood. Physical exertion, strong emotions, extreme temperatures, or eating increase the demand on the heart because arteries become blocked and narrowed.

Similiarly myocardial infarction is the death of heart muscle from the sudden blockage of a coronary artery by a blood clot.

Studies show that stress-induced cardiomyopathy is more common in women than men. Most cases have a history of preceding physical or emotional stress such as mopping the floor.

This condition has also been referred to as the "broken heart syndrome" because of its appearance following emotional stress.
